Higher officials and journalists at The Asian Age organized a celebration on the eve of the first day of Bengali new year Pahela Baishakh in the newspaper’s Tejgaon office on Monday (13 April 2026). Chairman, Editorial Board of The Asian Age Shoeb Chowdhury, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Jesmin Chowdhury, Editor-At-Large Syed Marghub Murshed, Editor-in-Charge Selim Omrao Khan, Publisher Md. Al Amin Chowdhury, eminent actor Kawsar Chowdhury and other senior dignitaries, staff reporters and News Editors of The Asian Age attended the ceremony.
A cake was cut to mark the auspicious function and traditional foods like yoghurt, sweets, pineapples, watermelons, jalebis, rice puff etcetera were served to everyone. Noted contributors to The Asian Age, academic scholars, senior bankers, students of different universities and women entrepreneurs joined the celebrations.
All the participants of the program extended their best wishes for all out advancement of The Asian Age, for the smooth prevalence of freedom of press all over Bangladesh and sang their favourite musical pieces and recited poems. The invited guests greeted and applauded The Asian Age top management for organizing this feast and cultural amusement.
