Freedom Fighter Hemayet Uddin passes away


Gallantry award winning Liberation War veteran Hemayet Uddin died of cardiac arrest at a city hospital on Saturday. He was 74.

"He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of National Heart Founda-tion at Mirpur in the capital city after midnight yesterday with chest pain he breathed his last around 5:30 that morning," son of the veteran Mainuddin Milon told this correspondent. The FF left behind three wives, 11 sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.  Hemayet, a former army soldier, is more known as the chief of Liberation War time Hemayet Bahini, a freedom fighters force named after him.
