Siblings drown in Narayanganj lake

Two brothers drowned while bathing in lake water at Jallarpahar area of Naranganj city.

The deceased were identified as Al-Amin, 10, and Ibrahim, 8, sons of Shah Alam, a rickshaw puller originally from Dattakandi village in Sirajganj district. 

The family currently resides as tenants at Kashipur Khilmarket area. According to the parents, the two brothers left home on Friday afternoon to visit a fair near the lake, but did not return by night.

After a search, parents found the children's clothes and shoes lying beside the lake. Then they started to search them in the lake with the help of the locals.

Locals recovered the body of Al-Amin first, followed shortly by Ibrahim, at approximately 12:30 AM on Saturday.

Both were rushed to the Emergency Department of the Narayanganj 100-Bed General Hospital. Upon arrival, the on-duty doctor declared both boys dead.
