Snatcher caught  red-handed by Ansar members in capital

Demonstrating prompt action and professional efficiency in ensuring public safety, members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force apprehended a snatcher red-handed in a busy area of the capital and successfully recovered and returned the stolen valuables to the victim. The incident highlights the force’s vigilant presence and commitment to maintaining law and order and safeguarding citizens, according to a press release.

According to sources, the incident occurred at approximately 12:00 PM in the outpatient (outdoor) area of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, within the jurisdiction of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar’s West Zone. While on routine patrol duty, Ansar members PC Md. Sadek Hossain Bacchu and APC Md. Rajib Hossain witnessed the incident. A snatcher attempted to flee after forcibly taking a pair of gold ear rings from a lady. The on-duty Ansar personnel immediately chased the suspect and managed to apprehend him on the spot. The detained individual was identified as Rajibul Islam, reportedly a resident of Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah district.

Sources confirmed that the recovered gold ear rings (two pieces) were promptly handed back to the rightful owner. The suspect was later handed over to the concerned police station for necessary legal action.
