The High Commission of India hosted a two-day musical evening on 17 and 18 April 2026 titled "Badhon Ache Praane Praane: Of Harmony Within" at the IGCC premises to mark the Pahela Baishakh and Bengali New Year.
The celebration featured the noted Rabindra Sangeet exponent from Bangladesh Adity Mohsin, joined by acclaimed Bengali singer from India Srikanta Acharya in a melody-filled rendition of the shared heritage of music, festivity and culture between the two countries.
The event was partnered by HSBC Bangladesh as a public-private collaboration in promoting heritage and creativity.
In his remarks on the occasion, High Commissioner Pranay Verma noted that the cultural bonds between India and Bangladesh were older and deeper than their national boundaries.
He described the presence of two eminent singers from the two sides of the border on one stage as a strong symbol of the cultural continuum uniting the peoples of the two countries, building bridges of understanding, and reflecting mutual trust and respect.
The event brought together senior dignitaries from the government of Bangladesh and representatives from business, media, academia and the cultural community.
