Bangladeshis raise A$1 million in a single evening for Mosque Project in Australia

At a fundraising event for the Glenquarie Mosque and Youth Development Centre project in New South Wales, nearly one million Australian dollars was raised in just one evening—sparking a new wave of inspiration across the diaspora community.
The event, held on Saturday evening in the Punchbowl area of Sydney, drew enthusiastic participation not only from expatriate Bangladeshis but also from members of other communities. With vibrant attendance from men, women, and young people, the gathering transformed into an exceptional display of solidarity and shared purpose.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by insightful presentations from the organizers outlining the project’s vision and progress. They emphasized that this initiative goes beyond constructing a mosque; it aims to establish a comprehensive Islamic center dedicated to nurturing education, moral values, and leadership among the younger generation growing up abroad.
