A toxic ambience surrounds us: Tauquir Ahmed
Famed actor Tauquir Ahmed has said that almost everything around the society is becoming toxic. Tauquir Ahmed made this comment on Sunday at a reception organized for him at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka. The program included musical soirees, dance, seminars, screening films and stage shows.
Tauquir Ahmed talked about the moral responsibility and commitment of performers to the country in his speech. He said "Doing creative work is the finest way to spend one's free time. Creative power enables human beings to carry out tough jobs and it adds honour to their profile".
Tauquir Ahmed recalled this experience as an actor during the reception. He laid emphasis on actors and actresses being allowed to do their work independently. Tauquir Ahmed stated that it takes a great deal of luck to be loved by people while it's also vital to pay honour to everyone around. He called upon performers, artists, dancers and singers to protest against anomalies and unethical activities to uphold integrity and humanitarian values.
Several renowned showbiz celebrities were present on the occasion including Mamunur Rashid, Abul Hayat, Mahfuz Ahmed, Afzal Hossain, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Gazi Rakayet, Azizul Hakim, Azad Abul Kalam and Amitav Reza Chowdhury who spoke very high of the professional dexterity of Tauquir Ahmed and praised his innovative skills in acting.
The discussants at the reception also referred to certain limitations in the life and work of actors and actresses caused by political and economic adversities. A few plays directed by Tauquir Ahmed were screened during the event.
