Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard have arrested 2 drug traders with 12 kilograms of hemp worth Tk 3.6 lakh in Chandpur.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan revealed thes information on Wednesday afternoon.
He said, "Acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Chandpur at 3 pm on Wednesday in the area adjacent to Chandpur Mini Cox's Bazar. During the operation, a suspicious passenger boat was searched in the area and 2 drug traffickers were arrested with 12 kilograms of hemp worth Tk 3.6 lakh. The process of taking further legal action against the seized hemp and the arrested drug traffickers is under process.
The Coast Guard will continue such operations in future to protect the young generation from the terrible clutches of drugs, the media officer added.
