Two oil traders fined Tk 1.75  lakh in Manikganj

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection has fined two traders in Manikganj for illegally stockpiling petrol selling diesel at prices higher than the government-set rate.

Asaduzzaman Rumel, Assistant Director of the DNCRP,  conducted a drive in in Hijuli of the municipality and Rajibpur Bazar of Sadar Upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

During the drive, Rishad Enterprise was fined Tk 25,000 for stockpiling 140 liters of petrol in Hijuli Bazar. In a separate drive, Milon Enterprise of Sadar Upazila was fined Tk 1.5 lakh for selling diesel at an excessive price.

Asaduzzaman Rumel said such drives will continue in order to protect consumer interests.
