Mizanur Rahman appointed as  SP in Kishoreganj

Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, currently serving as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been appointed the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Kishoreganj district.

A BCS 25th batch officer Mizanur Rahman will replace Dr Farhad Hossain who has been transferred to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), according to a notice issued on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Hailing from Kangshanagar Bhuiyan Bari under Burichong of Cumilla, Mizanur Rahman completed his SSC from Gangamandal Raj Institution from Science group securing first division and passed the HSC examination from Sujat Ali Govt College in Debidwar upazila with first division from Science group. Later, he pursued his higher studies in zoology at University of Dhaka with fist class in both honors and masters examinations. 

After joining Bangladesh Police, Mizanur Rahman served in various capacities. He also served in UN peacekeeping mission with dedication and professionalism. 

Beyond his professional services in police force, Mizanur Rahman has created a distinctive place in the field of writing. He writes on diverse topics including poetry, fiction, detective and the Liberation War. He has already penned 31 books. In recognition of his writing, he has been awarded different prestigious awards.
