Bangladesh Army beat Air Force to clinch title
Bangladesh Army beat Bangladesh Air Force by 3-1 set in the exciting final of the Radiant Pharmaceuticals Limited Independence and National Day Volleyball competitionheld at Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in the city on Saturday.
In the final, Bangladesh Army defeated Bangladesh Air Force in 3-1 sets by 25-13, 25-20, 23-25, 25-18 points to become the champion.
Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh Water Development Board (PWD) defeated Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in 3-1 sets by 25-19, 19-25, 26-24, 25-18 points to secure the 3rd place.
SifatHossain of Bangladesh Army was named the best player of the tournament State Minister for Liberation War Affairs IshraqueHossainwas present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners. Mr. Md. MahfuzulAlam Khan, Additional Secretary (Sports-2 Division), Ministry of Youth and Sports, was present as the special guest at the ceremony.

Earlier, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Army reached final of the competition eliminating their respective rivals in the semi-finals held at Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in the city on Friday.
In the day's first semifinal, Bangladesh Air Force beat BGB by straight 3-0 set while Bangladesh Army defeated Bangladesh Water Development Board by 3-1 set in the second semi-final.
The five-day Independence Day and National Day Volleyball Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Volleyball Federation and sponsored by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Limited, started on last Tuesday at Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in Paltan.
