UK-owned company renews BEPZA lease for 30 years

M/s. Experience Clothing Company Limited, a United Kingdom-owned garment manufacturing firm, has renewed its lease agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) for an additional 30 years, reaffirming its long-term commitment to Bangladesh’s export-oriented industrial sector. 

The company, which has successfully completed 30 years of operations in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ), on Monday signed the renewal agreement to ensure the continuity of its investment in the country.

Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Zulfiquar Maqsood, Director of Experience Clothing Company Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at a function at BEPZA complex in the city, according to a press release.

Currently, the company has made an actual investment of $ 15.16 million and employs 2,485 Bangladeshi nationals, contributing significantly to employment generation and export growth. The renewal of the lease agreement underscores the sustained confidence of foreign investors in Bangladesh’s investment-friendly environment, particularly within the country’s export processing zones. The signing ceremony was attended by senior BEPZA officials, along with Zillur Rahman, ndc, Consultant of the company and former Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, among others.
