Puja Cherry breaks silence on father’s arrest
Amid ongoing discussions surrounding the arrest of actress Puja Cherry’s father, Deb Prasad Roy, over allegations related to financial transactions, the actress has clarified her position on the matter.
In a statement posted on her verified Facebook page on Sunday morning, she said, “I have no personal involvement in the allegations raised against my father.”
Puja Cherry wrote that since her father’s arrest, she has been receiving numerous phone calls and messages from media houses and well-wishers. She decided to speak out to avoid confusion. She said, “I have been working in the media industry for the past 10–12 years. Through hard work, I have independently managed my career and all my living expenses.”
The actress further clarified that she has no connection whatsoever with her father’s business activities or financial dealings. She also stated that she is not associated with any production house or production company in any ownership capacity at present. Describing the situation as emotionally distressing, Puja Cherry said, “Being a family member, this situation is painful for me, but it is entirely his personal legal matter.”
She added, “I hope the law will take its due course and the truth will be revealed.”
Finally, she urged the public and media to refrain from linking her or her professional work with the issue, especially during this sensitive time, and sought continued support from her audience and well-wishers.
