Yao Wen calls on Defence Adviser Shamsul Islam

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen led a delegation team from Chinese Embassy yesterday (28 April 2026) and met the Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) AKM Shamsul Islam, PhD at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment.
The Chinese delegation team exchanged greetings and compliments with AKM Shamsul Islam. Both sides talked about further bolstering technological and military cooperation between Beijing and Dhaka. Yao Wen and his colleagues expressed hope that the existing friendly alliance between China and Bangladesh will become all the more consolidated and fortified in days to come. The Chinese envoy thanked the Defence Adviser for sharing his valuable time with the Chinese officials.
Brigadier General (Retd) AKM Shamsul Islam admired China's beneficial role as Bangladesh's development partner. He called upon the Chinese Ambassador to take necessary measures to add more strength to China's assistance with the defence sector in Bangladesh and the two countries' strategic partnership.
