Courtesy meeting held between US delegates and Defence Adviser

A high-level delegation from the United States paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister's Defense Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. A.K.M. Shamsul Islam.

The meeting was held on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), at the office of the Defense Adviser in the Armed Forces Division, Dhaka Cantonment.

During the meeting, the U.S. delegation was briefed on the priorities of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. They also discussed in detail potential areas of cooperation for enhancing the military capability and professional skills of the Bangladesh Armed Forces through the Indo-Pacific Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU).

Both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and expressed optimism about further strengthening and expanding defense cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States. They also agreed that bilateral military relations and strategic partnership between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in the future.

Among others present at the meeting were Lieutenant Colonel Robert Greene, Chief of the United States Military Group at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, and Mr. Michael Rembold, Regional Program Lead and Assistant Professor at DSCU, along with two additional representatives from DSCU.
