The Bangladesh women'sKabaddi team returned home on Tuesday night after achieving incredible success in the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China. 

These heroes, who made the red-green flag shine in the international arena by winning the bronze medal in the games, were warmwelcomed at HazratShahjalal International Airport.

A festive atmosphere was created when the women's Kabadditeam arrived at the airport on Tuesday night. Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) and President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation Md. Ali Hossain Fakir welcomed the players with flowers. At the event, the IGP said, 'The fighting spirit that our girls have shown in foreign soil is a source of pride for the entire nation. This bronze medal is not just a medal, it is a reflection of hard work and compassion for the country. We will take stronger steps to develop women's Kabaddi.'

Kabaddi Federation General Secretary SM NewazSohag returned with the team from China. The reception organized at the airport was also attended by National Sports Council Director Mohammad AminulEhsan, Bangladesh Olympic Association Deputy Secretary General MahbuburRahmanShaheen and MA Quddus Khan, Kabaddi Federation Vice President IGP Prison Brigadier General Syed Md. MotaherHossain and other officials of the Kabaddi Federation.

In this edition of the Asian Beach Games, the Bangladesh women's kabaddi team has presented an aggressive and tactical game from the beginning. Returning home with the joy of success, women's team captain SrabaniMallick said that this medal will inspire them to fulfill their future goals. She expressed hope that they will take to the field with the goal of something better in the future.

Earlier, Bangladesh scripted a major milestone despite losing to India in the women's Kabaddi semi-final at the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China on Sunday. 

Bangladeshi girls regained a medal from Kabaddi event after a long 14 years by reaching the semi-finals of the tournament and securing bronze. This is Bangladesh's first medal win in Kabaddi at the Asian Beach Games since 2012.

Bangladesh could not overcome India's strong wall in the fight to reach the final of the Asian Beach Games women's Kabaddi in Sanya, China. The red-green representatives were defeated by India by 50-31 points in the high-voltage semi-final match. 

However, despite not being able to reach the final, Bangladesh is not returning empty-handed; Bangladesh's bronze medal was confirmed as per the rules in the semi-final match. 

The Bangladesh women's team, which played brilliantly since the beginning of the tournament, ended the event with third place in the rankings.
Bangladeshi girls tried to compete with Indian defenders and raiders from the beginning of the match. At the end of the first half, the score was India 22-15 Bangladesh. With a gap of only 7 points, Bangladesh maintained a good chance of returning to the match until the break.

However, Bangladesh's defense lost its edge in the second half. The gap started to increase rapidly due to the storm of points collected by India's experienced raiders. When the final whistle blew, India's collection stood at 50 on the scoreboard, while Bangladesh stopped at 31 points. In the end, India ended the game with a victory by a margin of 19 points.

Despite losing in the semi-finals, Bangladesh has a lot to be proud of in its overall performance in the tournament. Bangladesh's medal win was assured by reaching the knockout stage. The Bangladesh women's team finished this season in third place according to the tournament rankings.
