The closing and award distribution ceremony was held in Narayanganj on the occasion of 'National Nutrition Week-2026' at the Civil Surgeon's office on Wednesday.
Various awareness programs, discussion meetings and health service activities were conducted throughout the week with the theme 'Nutrition Equality Day is over, will build a self-reliant Bangladesh'.
Civil Surgeon Dr AFM Moshiur Rahman presided over the ceremony while Deputy Commissioner Md. Raihan Kabir attended the event as the chief guest. The ceremony highlighted the importance of various activities and initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness on nutrition, eliminating malnutrition and building a healthy Bangladesh. In his speech as the chief guest, DC Md. Raihan Kabir said, "Ensuring nutrition is not only the responsibility of the health sector, it is an important part of overall development."
He put on emphasis on increasing awareness and taking collective initiatives to eliminate malnutrition.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi and District Senior Health Education Officer Asif Mahmud, among others, spoke at the program. At the closing ceremony, the guests including the District Commissioner presented prizes to the winners of various competitions.
