Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB) hosted a workshop on Sunday (3 May 2026) for youths focused on locally led adaptation in order to drive forward capacity building initiatives for the country's youths and for empowering young people to deal with climate change challenges, according to a press release received from ICCCAD.
The event was organized by the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) with financial support from the Netherlands government and in alliance with the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).
ICCCAD Managing Director Saqib Huq called upon youths to dynamically participate in the implementation of locally led adaptation efforts in their respective communities.
Students from different universities joined the workshop and exchanged views with experts and panelists. Young people from various districts expressed their willingness to work for mitigating the adverse effects of climate crisis.
Teachers, researchers, ICCCAD officials and some other dignitaries spoke on the occasion.
