RTV, Channel 24, Kalbela, BangladeshPratidin, Dhaka Post, Channel I, Star News and Jagonews24 clinched win in their respective matches in the second day of Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament at the artificial turf adjacent to the BFF building in Motijheel on Monday.
In the first match of the day, RTV defeated Dhaka Tribune by 1-0. RTV's scorer Mahim was named man of the match. The match between Channel24and ATN Bangla was a close contest. After being tied in regulation time, the match went to a tiebreaker. In a fiercely competitive match, Channel24 defeated ATN Bangla by 4-3 goals. Channel24's Goalkeeper Bablu was named man of the match.
The match between Kalbela and SA TV also went to a tiebreaker after being goalless in regulation time. Kalbela defeated SA TV 4-2 in the tiebreaker. Kalbela goalkeeper KaziRajibUddinPappu was awarded the man of the match. The match between Dhaka Post and Manabzamin was also settled in the tiebreaker with 4-3 goals. Dhaka Post goalkeeper Aminul was awarded the man of the match.
Jagonews24 defeated T Sports 3-2 in the tiebreaker. Jagonews24's goalkeeper Imam HossainSohel was awarded the player of of the match. Channel I won by 2-0 against Bangladesh Television. Star News grabbed the biggest win of the day with 4-0 win against Inqilab. Star News' Sabbir scored a hat-trick and became the man of the match.
Former captain of the national football team Alfaz Ahmed, former national footballer Jasimuddin Joshi, BSJA President ArifurRahmanBabu, senior sports journalist RanaHasan, and Dhaka Reporters Unity General Secretary MainulHasanSohelwas present during the presentation ceremony.
Earlier, the Kool BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament started on Sunday.
The tournament was inaugurated on the artificial turf adjacent to the BFF building in Motijheel with the participation of 32 media houses.
Mr. Md. AminulHaque, State Minister for Youth and Sports of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present at the field as chief guest and declared the auspicious inauguration of the Kool BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament-2026.
BFF Vice President WahiduddinChowdhury Happy, Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) President ArifurRahmanBabu, General Secretary SM Sumon and Tournament Committee Convener Raihan Al Mughani were also present on the occasion. In addition, Head of Media and Research Ferdousul Islam and Senior Brand Manager Adib Bin Shahid were present on behalf of the sponsoring company Square Toiletries.
