Training workshop for dairy farmers held in Dinajpur

A training workshop titled "Ideal Dairy Farm Management and Modern Technology Expansion" was held in Dinajpur and Thakurgaon to make dairy farms profitable and sustainable.

Organized by Dinajpur branch of BRAC Dairy and Food Project, the training workshop held at the auditorium of the Bangladesh Planning Association (FPAB) of Dinajpur district on Tuesday. 

BRAC Dairy and Food Project, Shahjadpur region regional manager Al Amin presided over the workshop while Dinajpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Shahina Begum spoke as the chief guest Speaking the occasion, she said, "If cleanliness, timely vaccination, selection of improved cattle breeds and use of information technology are ensured in farm management, quality milk production in the country will increase further and the country's dairy industry will be more developed and sustainable. 

Through the training, dairy farmers in the area will be able to build more advanced and profitable farms by using modern knowledge and technology."
The participants described the training as timely and practical. The trainees highly appreciated such initiatives of BRAC Dairy and promised to continue to supply milk regularly with BRAC Dairy.

Upazila Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Rasel spoke as the special guest. Among others, Veterinary Surgeon of BRAC Dairy and Food Project Dr. Ilara Parveen, Assistant BRAC District Coordinator Dulal Hossain spoke.

The training provided farmers with detailed training on modern methods of raising cows, balanced diet management, disease prevention, artificial insemination, increasing milk production and various techniques for technology-based farm management. 

The organizers said that in the present era, science-based management and use of modern technology are very important to build profitable dairy farms. Such training will increase the skills of farmers and help them reduce production costs and increase their income. 

Over 100 farmers and entrepreneurs participated in the training program.
