The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive has arrested two alleged drug dealers with 29 kilograms of hemp from Madhabpur of Habiganj district.
Acting on a rip-off, a team of CPC-3 Shaistaganj camp under RAB-9 carried out the operation on Tuesday night and detained Karim (30), son of late Shukkur Ali, a resident of Nurullaganj and Mehedi Hasan (32), son of late Zahurul Haque of Bakbhandar village both under Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district from a truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Madhabpur municipality area. The truck was also seized.
During the primary interrogation, the arrested duo confessed to carrying the contraband narcotics and both were handed over to Madhabpur police station with the seized hemp and truck.
RAB-9 says, with a view to implementing the 'zero tolerance' policy against illicit drugs, the intelligence activities and drives of the elite force will continue.
