BSJA Media Cup Football Final today

The two semi-finals and final match of the ongoing Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament is all et to be held on Thursday at the artificial turf adjacent to the BFF building.

In the first semi-final of the day, Deepto Television and Channel I will face each other at 8:30 am. At the same time, the second semi-final will be contested by Dainik Kalbela and The Daily Star. The winners of the semi-final matches will play the final match at 11 am.

Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Abdus Salam, Bangladesh Football Federation President Tabith Awal and Square Trolleys Limited Head of Marketing Dr. Jasmine Zaman is expected to attend in the final match and distribute prizes among the winners.

Earlier, four quarter-final matches were held on Wednesday.  Three of the fiercely contested matches were decided in a tiebreaker. Channel I defeated the tournament's last-season champion Dainik Jugantar by 2-1. Channel I won with a goal scored by Milan Mallick in the last minute of the second half. Abu Taher had earlier scored for the team. Milan Mallick was named man of the match.

In the second quarterfinal, the match between Dainik Kalbela and Dainik Kaler Kantho ended in a goalless draw at the scheduled time. Kalbela won the tiebreaker 4-3. Goalkeeper Pappu was named man of the match.

The match between Star News and Deepto TV ended in a goalless draw, leading to a tiebreaker. Deepto Television eventually won 3-1 to secure a place in the semi-finals. Mirza Shakib, the captain of Deepto Television, was named man of the match. He scored the winning goal after three saves.

The Daily Star advanced to the top four by defeating Cricfrenzy 4-2 in a tiebreaker in the last quarter-final of the day. 

Former national team footballer Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu, former national team captain Zahid Hasan Emily, national women's football team goalkeeper Mili Akhter, BSJA President Arifur Rahman Babu, General Secretary SM Sumon and tournament convener and BSJA vice-president Raihan Al Mughani handed over the match fees and player of the match awards to the participating teams.
