Bangladesh to play in E-Sports Nations Cup

The e-Sports Nations Cup, known as the World Cup of E-Sports, will be held in Saudi Arabia in November this year. The Bangladesh team is all set to take part in this event for the first time.

Dr. Brigadier General (Retd.) Md. Munirul Islam, President of Bangladesh Youth Development and Electronic Sports Association (BYDESA), disclosed the details at a press conference at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday.

President Munirul Islam said, "Bangladesh will participate in 15 different E-sports titles in the E-Sports Nations Cup. Where the total prize pool is more than 220 crore taka.  This is the biggest event among the country-based E-Sports tournaments. We are proud to be a part of this historic event."

Some 150 countries, including Bangladesh, will participate in this event. Total 50 gamers from Bangladesh will participate in 15 events. Regarding the preparations of Team Bangladesh, team manager Agha Rafsan said that Bangladesh is going to fight against Asian countries in the qualifying round. Bangladesh will be able to play in the main round only if it is in 2-3 of the leader board. Bangladeshi gamers are mainly preparing with that goal in mind.

It was also informed at the press conference that about 1500 gamers from all over the country registered for this tournament. From there, the final team was formed after the trial and multiple stages of selection process.

The three coaches of the event, Farhan Islam, Md. Abid Hossain and Nazmus Shakib, told the media about the preparations of the Bangladesh team.

 They said that the gamers for the national team have been selected in a completely impartial manner. The team's preparations are going on in full swing. 

Since there are still two months left for the start of the main event, they believe that there will be no shortage in the preparations.

At that time, they also said that in addition to gameplay strategies, training to adapt to the international environment is also underway.
