Veteran Dhallywood actress Kohinoor Akhter Suchanda will receive the Bangladesh Institute of Film and Arts (BAFA) Life-time Achievement Award (LAA) at the 5th edition of the BAFA Awards.
Suchanda said she accepted the award in person, receiving the BAFA Season 5 gift box from journalist Masid Rono, a member of the board of directors.
She said: "I have acted for many years with a hundred percent dedication. I have also produced and directed films. But I have been away from acting for a long time. Even so, I am truly happy that the new generation still remembers me. The young people associated with the BAFA Awards are dreamers of this generation. I feel very happy when they tell me about their event. That is why, although I had earlier refused many kinds of awards, I am accepting the BAFA Lifetime Achievement Award with joy."
The grand BAFA Season 5 event will be held on May 8 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC).
A total of 29 categories will be honored through direct audience votes and the decision of an expert jury for the best artists in music, dance, fashion, drama, OTT and film. The event will also feature performances by popular stars, along with fashion shows, a red carpet and a glam move segment.
BAFA started presenting the Life-time Achievement Award (LAA) from Season 3. So far, the honor has been awarded to Runa Laila, Shamim Ara Nipa and Shibli Mohammad.
