SSC examinee killed in Noakhali road crash
An SSC examinee was killed and another injured in a road accident in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Tanmoy Chandra, 16, a student of Delta Jute Mill High School and son of Kartik Chandra of Kuripara area of Noakhali Municipality. The injured student is Deep Debnath, 16, also an SSC examinee.
Police said the accident occurred around 11.00 am in front of Begumganj Agricultural Institute on the Chaumuhani Chowrasta-Maijdi Highway when a speeding CNG-run autorickshaw hit them while they were crossing the road.
Locals rushed the injured to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. Tanmoy's condition later deteriorated, and he died around 2:30 pm while being taken to Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Police Station Md. Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter and said legal action will be taken in this regard.
