45th National Cycling Competition inaugurates
A total of 225 cyclists are taking part in 18 district teams and four service teams. -BCF

The 45th National Cycling Competition-2026 was inaugurated on Thursday at the National Stadium, Dhaka, under the management of the Bangladesh Cycling Federation (BCF).

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Saiful Islam, President of Bangladesh Cycling Federation. Mr. Md. Aminul Haque, State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports inaugurated the competition as the chief guest and declared the inauguration of the event.

Mr. Titon Khisa, Executive Director (Additional Responsibilities), National Sports Council, Mr. Md. Jobayedur Rahman Rana, Secretary General, Bangladesh Olympic Association, Major Imroz Ahmed (Retd.), Vice President, Bangladesh Olympic Association, Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Jobayed Hossain, Joint Secretary (Youth Division), Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dhaka. Among others, Bangladesh Cycling Federation Vice President Barrister Jisan Mohsin, General Secretary Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal Tulu and Bangladesh Cycling Federation and various level officials were present on the occasion. 

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, some 24 teams including Nilphamari, Khulna, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Natore, Narail, Chandpur, Bandarban, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Gopalganj, Joypurhat, Jamalpur, Khagrachhari, Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Satkhira, Sylhet District Sports Association, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Jail, Bangladesh Railway and Chittagong are participating in the competition. 

A total of 225 cyclists are taking part in 18 district teams and four service teams. Among them, 152 male cyclists, 48 female cyclists and 22 under-13 boys, 11 girls cyclists.  6 event finals were held on the first day.

In the opening day, Antota Aktar of Bangladesh Ansar clinched title in 15 km Road Mass Start Girls event. Esprisha Alam from Dinajpur and Tasin Kobir became second and third respectively.

In the 1000m time trial men's event, Biswas Faisal of Bangladesh Army sealed the first place while Sumon Reza of BGB and MD Jibon Ali of Bangladesh Ansar became second and third respectively. 

In the 1000m time trial women's event, Nishi Khatun of BGB secured the first place while Nasima Aktar and Gita Ray of Bangladesh Army became second and third respectively.

In the men's elimination race event, Muktadur AL Hasan of Bangladesh Army clinched the first place while MD Yamin Khan of Bangladesh Ansar and MD Jewel Rana of Bangladesh Army became second and third respectively.

In the men's 40 km Road Individual event, Sahadat Hossain from Gazipur secured first place, while Subor Hossain from Gazipur and MD Arif Hossain from Chattogram became second and third respectively.
