The monthly meeting of the Law and Order Committee was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room in Satkhira on Sunday aiming to review the security issues for ensuring peaceful atmosphere in the district.
The meeting was presided over by the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Kawsar Aziz.
The meeting has discussed important issues including stopping the activities of pirates in the Sundarbans, increasing public awareness to stop extortion, taking necessary measures to prevent all types of degradation including drugs, moving the bus terminal out of the city, solving the traffic congestion problem, preventing jelly push in shrimp, setting up truck stands, preventing drugs, eliminating waterlogging and setting up Qurbani Haats, and increasing the activities of the temple to maintain law and order.
Satkhira-1 constituency MP Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah, Satkhira-2 constituency MP Muhaddis Abdul Khalek, Satkhira-3 constituency MP Hafez Muhaddis Rabiul Basar, Satkhira-4 constituency MP Gazi Nazrul Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdus Salam, Satkhira Government College Principal Professor Abul Hashem, Government Women's College Principal Professor Basudeb Basu, Satkhira Municipality CEO Md. Asaduzzaman, Additional District Magistrate Ripon Biswas, Additional Police Superintendent Md. Aminur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Arnab Dutta, District Jamaat Ameer Vice Principal Shahidul Islam Mukul, former president of Satkhira Press Club Momtaz Ahmed Bapi, Senior Orient Officer of Army Satkhira Camp Md. Tofazzel Hossain, among others, were present at the meeting.
Political leaders, officials from various government departments in the district, civil society leaders, and journalists were also present at the meeting.
