Huge quantity of yaba pills, foreign rifle, ammu seized in Cox's Bazar

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 70,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, including a foreign rifle and live ammunition in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan confirmed the information on Monday noon.

He said, "Acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf in the area adjacent to Leda Canal under Teknaf Police Station in Cox's Bazar at 3 pm on Monday. During the operation, a total 70,000 pieces of Yaba pills, including 1 foreign rifle, 1 magazine and 5 rounds of fresh ammunition, were seized during a search in the area. 

At that time, no one could be arrested as the drug dealers fled towards the mountains after sensing the presence of the law enforcers.

Further legal process in this regard is underway. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in future to stabilize the law and order situation in the country and prevent drug trafficking, the media officer added.
