5 students fall ill during school assembly in Rajshahi
At list, five students reportedly fell ill during the morning assembly while singing the national anthem at Shahabajpur High School in Puthia, Rajshahi. The incident occurred around 10:00 AM on Monday when a female student suddenly collapsed on the ground. Within moments, four other female students also fell sick, triggering widespread panic and unrest throughout the school.
According to school sources, Baishakhi Khatun, a seventh-grade student, first became ill. Shortly after, two of her classmates, Suraiya and Nabila Yasmin Maisa, along with sixth-grade students Khadija Akter Lota and Sidratul Muntaha Apekkha, also collapsed.
The school's Headmaster, Md. Zahidul Islam, stated that immediate medical measures were taken. The school authorities initially suspected that the students suffered from respiratory distress. They were subsequently rushed to the Puthia Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
