College teacher seriously injured in a terrorist attack
Gofran Palash, Kalapara (Patuakhali): A college teacher named Md. Mostafizur Rahman was seriously injured in an attack by same college teacher in Kalapara, Patuakhali and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The incident took place at Kalapara Government Mozahar Uddin Biswas College on Tuesday afternoon. Following the incident, a team of Kalapara Police Station came to the college and inquired about the matter, said the college principal Dr. Fatema Heren.

Sources said that on Tuesday at around 12:30 pm, Md. Mostafizur Rahman was reading the in-course exam booklet of the Islamic History Department in the library room of Kalapara Government Mozahar Uddin Biswas College. At that time, Md. Badal Matubbar, a teacher of the General History Department, suddenly started beating him with a chair. At one point, when he tried to hit Mostafiz's head, he resisted with his left hand in self-defense, and the plastic chair broke, cutting the lower part of his left wrist and his clothes were soaked with blood. After the incident, Mozammel, a teacher in the mathematics department, took him to Kalapara Hospital for treatment.

According to sources in the hospital's emergency department, a college teacher was brought to the emergency department at around 1 pm and the on-duty doctor, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, admitted him to the hospital. The injured teacher is currently under his care. The injured teacher has been given four or five stitches as the skin on the lower part of the left wrist of the injured teacher has been cut. He is currently out of danger.

The injured teacher, Mostafiz, said that Badal Matubbar has forbidden him from coming to the college since August 5, 2024. But Badal had beaten him up before because he came to the college regularly and taught classes. The injured teacher, Mostafiz, said that he is currently suffering from insecurity.

When contacted to college teacher Badal Matubbar about this, he denied the accusation of hitting and injuring teacher Mostafiz.

Principal of Government Mozahar Uddin Biswas College Dr. Fatema Heren said, I have come to know that there was a fight between two teachers in the teachers' lounge over a personal matter. No party has complained to me about this. I do not know whether a complaint has been filed with the police station, but the police came in the afternoon and inquired.

OC of Kalapara Police Station Md. Nazrul Islam said, I have come to know about the fight between two teachers in the college. If we receive a complaint in this regard, action will be taken according to the law.
