Mr. Indu Bhushan Roy, Headmaster of Kukradanga Government Primary School in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila, received the official letter on the day of retirement (PRL) on Thursday.
Where one usually has to wait for months to receive the documents on the day of retirement after completing one's career in government service, an exceptional and positive incident took place in Nilphamari.
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, District Primary Education Officer (Acting) Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam handed over the PRL (Post Retirement Leave) letter to the outgoing teacher in a simple ceremony at Kukradanga Government Primary School in Nilphamari district.
Usually, a teacher or employee has to go through a long official process to get PRL granted after retirement. But with the special initiative of District Primary Education Officer Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam, this process has been completed quickly. This means that the outgoing teacher does not need to come to the office again to approve the retirement leave.
While handing over the PRL letter, District Primary Education Officer Mr. Md. Rabiul Islam said, "Teachers are the masters of building people. We are trying to make their last working day a respectful and enjoyable one. This is part of our small effort to ensure that government services reach their doorsteps without any suffering."
While receiving the PRL letter, Headmaster Mr. Indu Bhushan Roy said, "I never imagined that I would receive my PRL letter on the day of retirement. This sincerity of the DPEO sir will be the best gift of my long teaching life. This is an inspiration for the new generation of teachers."
At this time, Upazila Primary Education Officer of Nilphamari Sadar Upazila Md. Jachijul Alam Mandal, along with other officials of the Education Office and colleagues from the concerned schools were present.
Local conscious circles believe that this swift and positive step of the administration will be a shining example of the responsibility of government officials.
