Actress and content creator Kaarina Kaisar, who was flown to India’s Chennai for advanced treatment for lung and liver complications, has died.
Her father, former national football team captain Mohammad Kaisar Hamid, announced her passing in a post on Facebook early on Saturday morning.
He wrote, “It is with great sadness that I inform you that my beloved daughter Kaarina Kaisar has passed away while undergoing treatment in Chennai a short while ago.
"If my daughter made any mistakes or hurt anyone, please forgive her. I express my gratitude to those who have been by our side, prayed for us, and cooperated with us during this difficult time.”
Kaisar told Glitz (glitz.bdnews24.com), "She died in Chennai around 1am. Her blood pressure suddenly dropped. After that, it could not be [stabilised]."
The father said no decision has been made about when to bring her remains home.
“Arrangements will be made to bring her home after she is released from the hospital tomorrow.”
Kaarina was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka for more than a week due to liver complications.
Later, when her condition deteriorated, she was put on life support.
On May 11, she was flown to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore for advanced treatment.
