UAE Ambassador calls on PM's Defence Adviser

The Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. A K M Shamsul Islam had a courtesy meeting with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Bangladesh, Abdullah Ali Al Hamoudi.
The meeting was held on Monday (18 May 2026) at the office of the Defence Adviser of the Armed Forces Division located in Dhaka Cantonment. The matter was informed to the media by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, besides the exchange of mutual greetings, fruitful discussions were held on the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), particularly on further strengthening defence cooperation, exchanging mutual experiences, and exploring potential areas of future collaboration. Both sides emphasized making the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries stronger, deeper, and more multidimensional.
The discussions also included enhancing defence and security cooperation between the two nations, as well as expanding training, capacity building, professional skill development, and mutual communication.
Both parties expressed the view that there is significant scope for further expanding defence cooperation between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates based on the existing cordial relations.
At the same time, issues related to increasing mutual cooperation in the context of regional and global security situations were also discussed.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing constructive cooperation in maintaining peace, stability, and security. They also expressed optimism about taking the bilateral relationship to a more effective and fruitful level in the future based on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests.
Both parties opined that this courtesy meeting would play an important role in further consolidating the existing friendly relations, mutual trust, and strategic cooperation between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates.
