Veteran Bangladesh's wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim broke the record for most Test hundreds by a Bangladesh batter during the               second Test against Pakistan in Sylhet on Monday.

Rahim notched up his 14th ton in the format in the second innings of the match to go past MominulHaque's tally of 13 centuries.

The seasoned wicketkeeper-batter is also Bangladesh's top run scorer in the longest format, having amassed over 6,700 runs in 102 matches.

The wicketkeeper batter made a crucial 123-run stand with Litton Das for the fifth wicket stand on his way to reach the milestone.

Litton Das was dismissed for 69 runs as Bangladesh extended their leaded 382 till the report were written.

The 39-year-old has been a steady presence for Bangladesh across formats. He is also Bangladesh's second-highest run-scorer in ODIs, with 7795 runs. He has also played over 100 T20Is for his country, scoring 1500 runs.

Rahim scored a crucial 71 in the first innings of the series opener against Pakistan as Bangladesh notched up a 104-run win in Mirpur.

Earlier, Wicket-keeper batter Liton Das was close in on a half-century after his first innings ton as Bangladesh reached 203-4 at lunch on Day 3 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Bangladesh, who secured a 46-run first innings lead, advanced steadily through an unbroken 88-run fifth wicket stand between Liton and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim.

Fast bowler KhurramShahzad trapped Shanto leg-before with a sharp inswinger in the fourth over of the day to finish the session with     figures of 3-46.

However, Liton and Mushfiqur ensured Bangladesh stayed firmly in control by frustrating the Pakistan bowlers for the remainder of the session.
Bangladesh was earlier bowled out for 278 in the first innings, riding on a sublime 126 from Liton Das.

Pakistan, replying to the hosts' total, was dismissed for 232 as Babar Azam top-scored with 68 on his return.
