Brahmanpara OC Faruk tops in drug recovery
Brahmanpara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Faruk Hossain and 7 police officers received a special award in recognition of their special contribution to drug recovery and law and order in the month of April (2026).
The other officers who received the award are - SI (unarmed) Md. Al Amin, SI (unarmed) Sujan Kumar Acharya, SI (unarmed) Saikat Majumder, ASI (unarmed) Md. Saiful Islam Siddiqui, ASI (unarmed) Ratan Kumar Mollik and ASI (unarmed) Kamruzzaman.
According to police sources, in April, Brahmanpara Police Station conducted a special drives and recovered a total of 150 kilograms of hemp, 2 hemp plants, 8,200 pieces of Indian fireworks and 940 pieces of Yaba tablets. At that time, 1 pickup van and 4 CNG-powered autorickshaws used for transporting drugs were seized.
In addition, the police arrested the 2 main accused in the robbery attempt along with domestic weapons and executed a total of 25 arrest warrants.
Meanwhile, SI (unarmed) D.M.A. Majid and SI (retd) Saikat Majumdar received special awards for delivering sentences against 20 people through the mobile court.
Police officials said that this award will encourage them to work more diligently. Their drives will continue to keep Brahmanpara Upazila free from drugs and crime.
