27,863 families are getting 10 kg of VGF rice each on the occasion of Eid in Kalapara

Gofran Palash, Kalapara (Patuakhali): On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, 27,863 poor and destitute families in Kalapara of Patuakhali are getting 10 kg of VGF rice each. Kalapara UNO Kausar Hamid has given a stern warning that no irregularities will be tolerated in the distribution of this special VGF rice allocated by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry under the government's social security program. He gave this warning while distributing 10 kg of VGF rice each to poor and helpless families at the Kalapara Municipality premises on Thursday morning.

Sources said that 20,153 beneficiary families have been selected from 12 unions of the upazila for the distribution of this special VGF rice allocated by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry. In addition, the number of beneficiary families in Kalapara Municipality is 4,625 and the number of beneficiary families in Kuakata Municipality is 3,085. 278.63 metric tons of rice have already been allocated for distribution among these beneficiary families.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Mokchedul Alam said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, free 10 kg rice distribution activities are underway in 12 unions and 2 municipalities. Rice is being distributed according to the list received based on the sub-allocated division of the Union Parishad. The concerned UP chairman and members along with the tag officer will definitely be present during the distribution.

In addition, Mokchedul Alam said that 10 metric tons of rice is being distributed among those affected by the natural cyclone on April 28-30.

Kalapara UNO Kausar Hamid said that no irregularities will be tolerated in the distribution of VGF rice. No one will be exempted if a complaint is received.
