Gofran Palash, Kalapara (Patuakhali): Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan said, 'The Blue economy has become a strategic priority in national development. Today, we have a huge potential field with about 1 lakh 18 thousand square kilometers of sea area in the Bay of Bengal.' - He said these words at the closing parade ceremony after the boot camp training of 441 new sailors at the Sher-e-Bangla Parade Ground, at Kalapara of the district on Thursday morning.
At the same time, he also said, 'The Bay of Bengal has an abundance of fish resources, renewable energy sources and the use of international trade routes, which are playing an important role in increasing the country's GDP. The Navy and Coast Guard are working tirelessly to transform this blue economy into a real development and to protect maritime security.'
He said, "Multifaceted steps have been taken to modernize the Navy with the aim of conserving marine resources and protecting maritime borders. A significant number of warships, helicopters, modern war equipment and technology have been added to the fleet. At the same time, with the addition of two submarines named Banauja Navjatra and Joyjatra, the Navy has become a three-dimensional Navy today. As part of increasing the capacity of the three-dimensional Navy, the activities of adding new naval bases, warships, modern war equipment and technology are always ongoing. Every member of the Navy is always ready to accept any kind of sacrifice while always being engaged in the needs of the country."
PSOs of the Navy Headquarters, high-ranking military and civilian officials, dignitaries from Kalapara, Patuakhali, Barisal and Khulna regions and guardians of the new sailors were present at the time.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Navy Chief inspected the parade and took the salute. At this time, the new sailors touched the national flag and took an oath to dedicate their lives to the needs of the country. Later, the Navy Chief awarded the 'Navy Chief's Award' to Shahriar Tutul as the best smart sailor for achieving the highest excellence in professional and all subjects, the 'Kamkhul Award' to Samiul Islam Shakil for securing the second place, the 'Sher-e-Bangla Award' to Quader Mia for securing the third place and the 'Pritilata Waddedar Award' to Maria Akhter for the best smart female sailor and handed over the crests to them.
