Two labourers and as many farmers have been killed and another injured when lightning struck them in Barishal and Naogaon.
Police said the fatalities were reported between Thursday morning and afternoon.
In Barishal, the labourers were working on a betel leaf barge of Mahilara Bhima Paar in Gournadi Upazila, bdnews24 reports.
Gournadi Model Police chief Md Tariq Hasan Russell said Abdul Alim Howlader, 60, a local resident, and Sukanta Bala, 38, of Wazirpur Upazila died in the incident. Gopal Sarkar of Gournadi Upazila was injured. He was admitted to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
In Naogaon, two farmers -- Akkas Fakir, 60, and 22-year-old Tarek, identified by a single name -- died after a lightning strike in Raninagar Upazila. The incident took place in Paroil union around 11am, said Raninagar Police chief Zakaria Mandal.
Worker Died in Natore
A 60-year-old brick kiln worker was killed by a lightning strike in Lalpur Upazila of Natore, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Esken Ali Bhola, a resident the Upazila.
Police said two female workers were injured in the incident at "Super Brick Kiln" in Sirajipur around 11:30am.
The workers identified as Shapla Khatun and Sufia Khatun are undergoing treatment at the Lalpur Upazila Health Complex.
One Dead in Kurigram
A man was killed by lightning strike while watching fish in a pond in Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram in the morning.
The incident took place in Bajra Tabakpur, said Chilmari Model Police Station OC Nayan Kumar, identifying the victim as 37-year-old Rafiqul Islam, a resident of the area.
