Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has distributed Eid gift packages among its allowance-receiving members and employees ahead of Eid-ul-Azha 2026.

The concluding ceremony of the welfare initiative was held on Saturday at the force headquarters in Khilgaon, Dhaka, with Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud attending as the chief guest.

Under the programme, a total of 28,365 beneficiaries, including members and fourth-class employees from all 64 districts of the country, received Eid gift packages. The packages contained polao rice, semai, suji, powdered milk, noodles, sugar, and various cooking spices.

The initiative was undertaken to strengthen welfare support, solidarity, and festive spirit among the members and employees of the force.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director General said the force must move forward with discipline and determination to implement its “Reform Plan 2035.”

“We must not deviate from our set goals under any circumstances. This is not the time to look back; rather, we should move ahead with greater confidence by utilizing future opportunities,” he said.

He also noted that the force’s capabilities are gradually increasing and that collective efforts and dedication would further accelerate its progress. He urged all members to work responsibly, sincerely, and with commitment to achieve the organisation’s goals.

Deputy directors general, along with officials and employees of various ranks, were also present at the programme.

Officials concerned said such welfare-oriented initiatives reflect the organisation’s commitment, compassion, and humanitarian values toward its members and employees.

They expressed hope that the Eid gift distribution programme would enhance mutual harmony, motivation, and morale among members while contributing positively to the overall unity and efficiency of the force.
