24 Directors elected in Chittagong Chamber biennial election

The biennial election of the Board of Directors of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) was held in a festive, peaceful, and orderly atmosphere with enthusiastic participation from business leaders across Chattogram. 

Voting took place uninterrupted from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday after which the results were officially announced by the Chairperson of the Election Board and Director of Local Government, Chattogram, Monowara Begum.

In the election, 12 directors were elected from the Ordinary Group and 6 directors from the Associate Group through direct voting. In addition, 3 directors from the Trade Group and 3 from the Town Association Group were elected unopposed. 

A total of 24 directors were elected from four different categories.

The 12 elected directors from the Ordinary Group are: Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury of Raja Corporation (1,405 votes), A.S.M. Ismail Khan of Falguni Traders Ltd. (1,374 votes), Abu Haider Chowdhury of Chumki Apparels Ltd. (1,364 votes), Md. Amzad Hossain Chowdhury of Rising Computer Scale (1,352 votes), Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury of Eastern Apparels Ltd. (1,321 votes), Asad Iftekhar of Turning Point (1,306 votes), Aman Ullah Al Sagir of Stevedore Friends Syndicate Ltd. (1,277 votes), Md. Golam Sarwar of Prantik Marine Services Ltd. (1,259 votes), Mohammad Habibur Rahman of The Four Wheelers (1,259 votes), Mohammad Shafiul Alam of New Karnaphuli Trading (1,249 votes), Mohammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury of JSN Enterprise Ltd. (1,211 votes), Shahidul Alam of Standard Logistics Services (1,209 votes)
