Khurshid Alam appointed Islami Bank Chairman

Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Sunday appointed former deputy governor Md Khurshid Alam as the independent director and chairman of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

According to an official letter issued by the central bank's Banking Regulation and Policy 1Department (BRPD), the appointment was made under the powers conferred by Sections 45 and 47(3) of the Bank-Company Act, 1991.

The central bank sent the directive to the Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC for immediate implementation.

Md Khurshid Alam has a long career in the banking sector and previously served as a deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank.
