Kamrul Islam made PM's Protocol Officer
The Bangladesh government has appointed Kamrul Islam as Protocol Officer-2 to the Prime Minister. A notification regarding his appointment was issued on Monday (1 June 2026). According to the notification, Kamrul Islam has been appointed on a contractual basis to the position of Protocol Officer-2 (Grade 6) to the Prime Minister, on the condition that he relinquishes any professional, business, or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organization.
The appointment will take effect from the date of his joining and will remain valid for either the duration of the Prime Minister's term or until the Prime Minister is satisfied with his service, whichever occurs earlier.
Kamrul Islam's ancestral home is in Sonagazi Upazila of Feni District, Bangladesh.
