CPB mourns Tofail Ahmed's death

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran politician, one of the organizers of the great Liberation War, one of the leaders of the 1969 mass uprising and heroic freedom fighter Tofail Ahmed.

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan and General Secretary Abdullah Kafi Ratan expressed their condolences on the death of Tofail Ahmed in a statement yesterday, June 1, 2026.In the statement, the leaders said that Tofail Ahmed will be remembered for his role in the student movement of the 1960s, the mass uprising of 1969 and the glorious Liberation War of 1971.

The leaders also said that Tofail Ahmed made important contributions to the anti-autocratic struggle of the 1990s and the progressive movement of the country.

In a statement, CPB leaders expressed their deep condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and well-wishers of Tofail Ahmed.
