Md. Moshiur Rahman, President of India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), has extended tributes to former Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed who died on Monday. The IBCCI President's homage, which was issued yesterday, is as follows.
"The India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI) expresses its profound sorrow and deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Tofail Ahmed, former Minister of Commerce & Industry, eminent statesman and one of the valiant organizers of Bangladesh's War of Liberation, who passed away on 1 June 2026.
Mr. Tofail Ahmed made immense contributions to the nation through his dedicated public service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the economic and social development of Bangladesh. He was also a well-wisher of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a strong supporter of initiatives that strengthened the friendship and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and India.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we convey our heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to his bereaved family, relatives, friends, and admirers. We pray to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength and patience to his loved ones during this difficult time." Md. Moshiur Rahman prayed for the eternal peace of Tofail Ahmed's departed soul.
