Advocate Rajib Ahsan Chowdhury, a prominent former student leader from Chittagong University and Dhaka University, has been appointed as a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, holding the rank of Joint General Secretary.
The appointment was announced on Thursday (June 4) in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, unveiling the full 151-member committee headed by President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Noyan.
Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the national daily Jaijaidin, Advocate Rajib has a long history in nationalist politics, having previously held key roles in the central Chhatra Dal. Party sources highlighted his active and courageous role on the streets during political movements, including leading protests following the imprisonment of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in 2018, and organizing frontline efforts during the 2024 student-people mass uprising.
Expressing his gratitude to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and the Jubo Dal leadership, Rajib stated, "Positions are secondary; people's love is the greatest achievement. I remain committed to working under the leadership of Tarique Rahman to rebuild a future Bangladesh."
Political observers note that his extensive organizational experience and strong grassroots acceptability will significantly strengthen the central structure of Jubo Dal.
