An understrength Australian visiting side arrived in Dhaka on Friday eveningfor a tour featuring three ODIs and three T20I against Bangladesh.
Australia recently played three one-day internationals against Pakistan in Rawalpindi and Lahore with a 2-1 series defeat before travelling to Bangladesh on Friday for three ODIs in Dhaka and three T20s in Chattogram.
This will beAustralia's first ODI series in Bangladesh in 15 years. The last time the Aussies played an ODI series on Bangladeshi soil was in 2011, when Michael Clarke's side completed a 3-0 clean sweep against a Bangladesh team led by Shakib Al Hasan.
Australia's most recent visit to Bangladesh came in 2021, when the hosts, captained by MahmudullahRiyad, secured a memorable 4-1 victory in the five-match T20I series.
ODI captain Pat Cummins along with main rosters, fellow fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc will miss the tours while Travis Head, who missed the Pakistan series due to his IPL commitments will join Bangladesh series.
Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, who were both part of the Australia squad that failed to make it out of the group stage at the T20 World Cup earlier this year, have been dropped. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) already announced ticket prices for the upcoming ODI series against Australia which ranges from Taka 200 to Taka 2,500.
According to the BCB, spectators will be able to watch the matches from the Eastern Gallery at Taka 200, while tickets for the Northern Gallery and Shaheed Abu Sayeed Stand have been priced at Taka 400.
Fans wishing to sit in the Club House section, comprising the ShaheedMushtaq and Shaheed Jewel stands, will have to pay Taka 600.
Tickets for the International Gallery (Media and Corporate Block) have been set at Taka 1,500, while the Grand Stand (upper and lower) tickets will be available at Taka 2,500.
The board also confirmed that tickets will not be sold through stadium booths. Fans will be required to purchase tickets online through the designated ticketing platform. As usually tickets can be purchased online at www.gobcbticket.com.bd.
The ODI series will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on June 9, 11 and 14, with all matches starting at 11 AM local time.
The three-match of T20I series will be held at the BirSreshtha Flight Lieutenant MatiurRahman Stadium in Chattogram on June 17, 19 and 21. All matches are scheduled to begin at 2 PM local time.
