Reenat Fauzia nominated as DU senate member
Professor Reenat Fouzia has been nominated for the post of Member in Senate of Dhaka University (DU) complying with University of Dhaka Ordinance 1973, Article 20 (1) (I). Reenat Fauzia is a Professor in Government College of Applied Human Science (former Home Economics College). She belongs to Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) 14th Education Cadre.
Dhaka University conveyed the information about Reenat Fauzia's nomination as DU Senate Member through an office order issued on 2 June 2026.
This order was given in accordance with a decision of the Dhaka University Academic Council.
Reenat Fauzia is the subcontinent's esteemed music maestro Ustad Ayet Ali Khan's granddaughter. Former Bangla Academy Director General Mobarak Hossain Khan and famed singer Fauzia Khan are Reenat Fauzia's parents.
Inspector General of Police Ali Hossain Fakir and Additional IGP (Administration) AKM Awlad Hossain adorned Rezaul Karim Mallik with the ranks and badges of Additional Inspector General of Police in Police Headquarters on Sunday (7 June 2026) following his promotion. Rezaul Karim Mallik was earlier serving as Dhaka Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
