Al-Mahmud Bijoy: RU Correspondent: Rajshahi University (RU) organized a day-long workshop titled “Preparation for Accreditation: Documentation and Evidence” on Wednesday to strengthen accreditation readiness and ensure quality higher education in line with international standards.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of RU and the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) with support from the HEAT Project. Representatives from eight academic departments participated in the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, UGC Member Professor Dr. Masuma Habib emphasized the importance of accreditation in the internationalization of higher education. BAC Chairman Professor Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed highlighted the need for evidence-based academic and administrative practices to ensure quality education.
RU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Alim said the university remains committed to excellence in education, research, and administration, adding that such workshops enhance awareness and capacity regarding accreditation.
The keynote paper was presented by BAC full-time member Professor Dr. S. M. Kabir, who discussed documentation, evidence management, self-assessment reports, and quality assurance measures required for accreditation. The workshop was attended by senior university officials, deans, department heads, and faculty members.
