Initiative to make Birganj green and clean launched
A program to make Birganj upazila green and clean has been launched on Thursday.
Under World Vision Bangladesh Birganj Area Development Project, the upazila administration and Bangladesh Scouts implemented the program.
Birganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Suma Khatun addressed the program inauguration program as the chief guest while Assistant Commissioner (Land) Dipankar Barman was in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion, UNO Suma Khatun said, "We all have responsibility to make our surround neat and green. If we all actively participate in the program, we can build an environment-friendly and livable upazila." World Vision Bangladesh Birganj Area Manager Robert Kamal Sarker delivered the welcome speech.
Birganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Jahangir Badshah Rony, Upazila Health Complex Medical Officer Dr. Abu Bakar Siddique, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Nibedita Das, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Julfiqar Ali Shah, Upazila Primary Education Officer Shahjida Haque along with local public representatives and journalists from print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
