BJKC launched at high-level Bangladesh-Japan dialogue
A high-level roundtable discussion titled “Bangladesh-Japan Career Dialogue: Education to Employment” was held on Saturday at Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel. The event brought together senior government officials, academic leaders, representatives of Japanese institutions, language training experts, and industry and corporate leaders to discuss pathways for building a structured education-to-employment corridor between Bangladesh and Japan.

The roundtable was jointly organized by Irving Education and Probashi Seba Limited, and marked the official launch of the Bangladesh-Japan Career Center (BJKC). The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Tazria Rishta Rahman on behalf of BJKC. The keynote presentation was delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammad Ridwanul Hoque of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.

The session was moderated by Kanij Fatima, Executive Director of BJKC. Md. Nurul Haque, MP, State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, attended the dialogue as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Md. Shakirul Islam Khan, Honorable Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Employment Affairs (Asia-Pacific Region), attended the dialogue as the Special Guest.

The Bangladesh-Japan Career Center (BJKC) has been established as Bangladesh’s first integrated, one-stop career ecosystem dedicated exclusively to Japan-focused education, training, employment, and workforce mobility. Its core mission is to streamline and strengthen the pathway between Bangladeshi youth and Japanese opportunities by serving as a bridge between educational institutions, training providers, and aspiring professionals in Bangladesh, and employers, industry associations, and institutional partners in Japan.

For young Bangladeshis seeking to build careers in Japan, BJKC will provide structured Japanese language training, skills development and certification aligned with both Bangladeshi and Japanese standards, career counseling and Japan pathway orientation, employer engagement and placement support, visa and regulatory guidance for Japan-bound migration, and digital career services through the Probashi platform.

By bringing these services under a single platform, BJKC aims to eliminate the fragmentation that currently makes the journey from education to employment in Japan slow, uncertain, and inaccessible for many aspiring candidates. In doing so, it seeks to position Bangladesh as a reliable source of skilled, language-ready talent for Japan’s growing workforce needs.

Irving Education operates a specialized Japanese language training center and a technical training institute in Gazipur, dedicated to preparing skilled human resources for international employment opportunities. Probashi Seba, on the other hand, is a migration consultancy platform that promotes career guidance and awareness of safe and skilled migration pathways. The organization also maintains institutional partnerships with universities across Bangladesh.

BJKC has been established on the combined strengths of these two organizations, leveraging their training infrastructure, international placement experience, digital platforms, and academic networks.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of strengthening Japanese language proficiency, skills development, employability, training quality, and certification standards for Bangladeshi youth aspiring to enter the Japanese labor market. They also highlighted the need for stronger collaboration among universities, industry stakeholders, and government institutions, as well as better alignment of skills development initiatives with the requirements of Japanese employers.

Participants further expressed a shared vision of developing BJKC as a coordinated platform that connects educational institutions, training providers, employers, policymakers, and prospective workers, thereby creating a smoother pathway from education to employment for Bangladeshis seeking opportunities in Japan.
